Car combat game for iPhone · In the works
Car battles with the friend next to you
Rival Road is a top-down car combat game in 16-bit pixel art. Grab weapons, ram, jump ramps and blow up your rival in small arenas built for a fight. Play the person on the couch, someone online, or the computer.
- Nearby and online 1v1
- Free to play

Two thumbs, no buttons to hunt for
Hold your iPhone sideways. Your left thumb drives and your right thumb fights.
Steer
Point your left thumb where you want to go and the car turns to follow.
Fire
Hold your right thumb down to fire whatever weapon you picked up last.
Special
Every car has its own special, fired with a quick swipe combination.
Boost
A short burst of speed for ramming, jumping ramps or getting away.
Small arenas, big fights
Every arena is a few screens across, so you're never driving around looking for someone. Ramps, crates, barrels and weapon drops are scattered everywhere, and most of it breaks.
- Freeway interchange
- Mall parking lot
- Junkyard
- Rooftop
- Drive-in
Pick a car
Each car handles differently and has its own special. Start with four and win the rest in the Gauntlet.

Play the person on the couch
Each of you drives on your own iPhone with the whole screen to yourself. When nobody's around, play online or against the computer.
Gauntlet
A knockout bracket against the computer. Beat a car to unlock it.
Nearby
Two iPhones in the same room find each other. No account, no Wi-Fi network to join.
Online
Challenge a friend or find a random opponent through Game Center.

Questions
When does it come out?
Not for a while. We're building the car handling and two-phone play first. Email contact@polyology.co and we'll send you one note when it's on the App Store.
Is the game free?
Yes. Every mode is free, including nearby and online matches, and you can unlock every car and arena by playing.
What does Rival Road Pro do?
It unlocks every car and arena right away, for $4.99 once. It doesn't make any car stronger.
Are there gems or upgrades to buy?
No. There's nothing to grind for and nothing that makes a paying player hit harder.
How many players?
Matches are 1v1 to start. Four-player matches are planned once two-player online play is solid.
Is that the real game art?
Not yet. The pictures on this page are placeholders drawn for the site. We'll swap in real screenshots as the game comes together.
